This drawing, that is not yet finished, is
the first piece in a series I am currently
working on called The Moving Child. The
series features this child in different
situations advancing toward a goal.
Here the child climbs upward with an
encouraging bird. Sometimes in life, as
in this work, our path is not smoothly
continuous but has breaks or gaps be-
tween its parts. When there is no
obvious bridge from one part of the
path to the next, and we want and need
to continue, we become our own bridge
over the gap. Then like the child in the
drawing we are both the traveler and
the path to the next level.
