Transformation isn’t easy – if it was we would
all be transformed. Only great effort makes
great changes. While profound transformation
is a difficult process fraught with tension, it can
produce life-altering results. In the midst of our
pain, we may feel like the elephant in this
image, stomping around creating tornadoes.
But hard times can create new beginnings.
There are green shoots springing up from the
elephant’s feet and green at the base of every
tornado. New growth begins during a time of
stress. As the German philosopher Friedrich
Nietzsche said, “You must be a chaos to give
birth to a dancing star.”
